[the silent princess has always been Zelda's favorite flower—such a pretty little thing, with its almost ethereal light in the darkness, even though it cannot sustain itself outside of its natural habitat. it was only natural, then, that the flowers began to sprout first from her hair, then from her scalp itself as the peninsula's nature began to change her into a monster.
she always wonders if this means she, too, will wither the longer she is here, for it is certainly not her home.
when the sun begins to set and her flowers start to glow their brilliant blue, she sets out into the forest, where she comes across a small lake that she and her knight had discovered during their first few days—it's now become his home, of sorts, for obvious reasons. sitting down at the water's edge, she calls,]
Link? Link, it's time to wake up.

Red scales glimmer in the moonlight as he raises a hand in the air, examining the webbing laced between his fingers. It's not so bad, he reminds himself hazily, floating just below the water's surface. There are plenty of others whose changes have been much more...drastic.
It just makes him worry more for them.
When he hears Zelda's voice --so like the voice in his memory, and yet...still somewhat unfamiliar to him-- he turns instinctively toward it. In spite of his missing memories, he feels compelled to stay close to her. "Champion." "Knight." They're unfamiliar names, but undeniably his. He flicks his tail, gliding through the water until he reaches the bank where she sits.]
It's later than I thought.
[He sounds a little sheepish. Time gets away from him when he's in the water, these days.]

she knows, though, that more pressing matters preoccupy their thoughts now.
still, she cannot help but look fondly—almost sadly—upon link's transformed state as he swims up to her, dipping her own newly-tendriled toes into the water. she briefly wonders if she needs water like a normal plant, or if the only sustenence she requires now is the consumption of human flesh.
... she'd rather dwell on something else.]
You're the spitting image of Mipha. Only... perhaps a little more muscle definition, in your limbs.

This world and these changes are not gentle. Perhaps that's why.
Mipha. The sound of her name causes a pang of nostalgia and regret that he doesn't entirely understand. It's not unlike the time he spent with Sidon, hearing her name, hearing her stories, and yet feeling as though they belonged to someone else. Not him, but another who shared his name and face.
He knows, as with Zelda, that she was -is- someone he cared for. But beyond that, and some abstract notion of the time he spent with the Zora, she could be anyone.]
Maybe a little like her brother. [Without his boisterousness, maybe. A faint smile flickers across his face, and then slitted blue eyes turn to the flowers weaving their way through her hair, their glow a little like a halo in the night. After a moment, he gestures to them.]
They suit you. The flowers.
[It is not something he says easily, in all honesty. This place, as far as he has seen thus far, suits no one. But in spite of that, the silent princess is almost a comforting sight -- the way Zelda herself is.]
