easily. they're both magnets for trouble, really, so lightning's not all that surprised, when it comes down to it. what she hadn't expected was the red eyes. the sharp teeth. the claws that sprouted in place of her fingernails.

it's all pretty annoying, when it's all put together.

shame about that craving for souls, though. ]

[Something they never tell you comes with the whole "basically a dragon" package is an affinity for heights. Not that Noel was ever afraid of them before all of this --him? yeah, right-- but these days...he'd rather be perched atop a building than standing inside.

Nights. These nights. If he could get rid of the sunlight sensitivity, he would, in a heartbeat.

Tonight, he's managed to find a friend...as far as you can call Riku that. Sometimes he's not sure whether they're friends, enemies, family, or all of the above. Either way, bro, you've been spotted. The gargoyle swoops down and lands near Riku, tilting his head.]

(Shade is the typical kind of description, but she loves shapeshifting on people.

Gargoyle form features ram-like horns, a long tail, reddish-orange scales on 75% of her body, fangs, taloned feet with dew claws and toes and a stature form made out of topaz.)

(Harpy flavour features plumage patterns based on the male indigo bunting (last picture on the bottom), separate wings, grey coloured taloned bird feet and similar structure for her hands, elongated arms, body almost covered entirely in feathers, long ribbon-like tail, feather-covered ears and tiny feathers freckling her face.

Her lich form is completely covered in armour, taking on the appearance of her Keyblade Armour. The only real parts from her old body are her torso and hands encased in the armour, and her Wayfinder charm houses her heart and soul.)

Don't look now, Namine, but there's a small leopard padding up to you now. Sure she has wings and other scary features now and Riku's more feline than human, but he still wants to spend time with his friend. Really, he worries about her and her changes sometimes.

[Cloud's harpy form is going to be based on the rocs that appear here in there in Final Fantasy. He's going to have large bird feet now and his arms are going to have turned into wings. His eyes are definitely more birdlike as well and he really likes shiny things.

As a Nephilim, Cloud is going to have six dark gray colored wings, a faint glow around his head in terms of a halo, a second set of eyes that are smaller and located above his normal eyes, a nice pair of kudu horns coming out of his head and he's about two feet taller now.

And as a Pooka he's going to have rabbit like eyes that are a deep red, long hare-like ears, fur covering his arms, legs, neck and shoulders, digitigrade legs, double incisors like a rabbit and in general his teeth are overgrown because of how pooka are.]

[the silent princess has always been Zelda's favorite flower—such a pretty little thing, with its almost ethereal light in the darkness, even though it cannot sustain itself outside of its natural habitat. it was only natural, then, that the flowers began to sprout first from her hair, then from her scalp itself as the peninsula's nature began to change her into a monster.

she always wonders if this means she, too, will wither the longer she is here, for it is certainly not her home.

when the sun begins to set and her flowers start to glow their brilliant blue, she sets out into the forest, where she comes across a small lake that she and her knight had discovered during their first few days—it's now become his home, of sorts, for obvious reasons. sitting down at the water's edge, she calls,]

Noctis Lucis Caelum | Demon/Manticore/Naga

[Alright. So, as a demon Noctis has the typical elongated fangs, glowing red eyes, pointed ears and claws. He's also got two sets of horns coming off his head; the first set are the largest and sprout from behind his ears, curving backwards before curling up at the ends back towards his head. The second set jut out from just above the first and are small, spiral curved horns that seem like they're going to start growing around the first set. He's got large black bat-like wings and a standard demon whippy tail. He's also go hooves instead of feet.

As a manticore he's just a giant, sleepy cat. Those from home may recognize how distinctly coeurl he looks, long whiskers included. His wings in this form are distinctly bird-like, specifically like the Bennus from back home. (Both wings are seemingly split into two, a nod to the Bennu's odd wingset.) His scorpion tail is tri-pronged and extremely long. His eyes are more feline now as well. And on top of all of this he's got digitigrade legs and fur all over the place.

As a naga he looks like the daemon that attacked him when he was a child and again when he was on his journey with the others. (By this I mean his tail is identical to that daemon's.) He's got long venomous fangs, snake-like eyes, clawed hands, and scales cover his arms and shoulders. ]

[Something had gone horribly wrong. The last thing Gladio remembered was something rearing up out of the darkness of the cave they had been slowly making their way through, something that screamed like a child but was easily as big as a giant. It had spread its jaws wide, but instead of the physical attack Gladio had been braced for, putting himself between the daemon and his charge, it had breathed something out. A thick, noxious gas that immediately stung the eyes and throat, leaving them all choking as they struggled for oxygen or to even see.

Then, even as he had dismissed his weapons to grab Noct and run, the daemon had slammed into the side of the walkway they were moving across, crumbling it beneath their feet. There was the memory of his muscles screaming in pain, of falling, of trying to cradle Noct to him--

Then, darkness. Daemons only attacked humans, after all.]



[ooc: Gladio is a minotaur with a behemoth twist because why the hell not? His tattoo is barely seen against deep purple skin, where it isn't covered in matching fur. The man is even bigger, bipedal, with cloven feet and a great pair of curved, forward-pointed horns coming out from near his temples. Crimson eyed and a black-tipped bull's tail matches it off along with his hair extended down his back much like a behemoth's mane.]

[She approaches it all so casually. "What's the news, Amy?" "Not much. Died. Came back. Died again, and now I'm back. Again." If you didn't know better, you might think she takes it easily, but it's not like that at all. Not really. She's optimistic, not insane. It's hard, it's so hard, living -- just living, in general, really, not to mention the fact you know you've died. That you shouldn't even be here.

But it's never as hard as it is for the people you've left behind, is it? It's not fair for them.

So here she is, and Ryslig, you better be ready, because if you're not she might just cheer you all to death. (Probably an exaggeration. Probably.)

Not only that, but Kieren, god love him, he's here, and he's spooky, and he's got friends. Friends besides her, no less, and while she's very good at acting jealous, she's really over the moon. Because he's-- well, he's just Kieren, and he deserves every bit of happiness in the whole world, and if that's something this place has done even for a moment, she's not going to complain.

It was nice being human, but being green isn't so bad either. She shows off exactly why one beautiful spring afternoon while Kier is working. The coffee shop is loads better than the bar in Roarton, not least because coffee is a thousand times superior to beer.]

Look! [She's positively grinning, pointing at her head, where she's got a flower crown.] Very bohemian, innit? 'Course, it's less DIY when it's growing out of me head, but anyway. [She winks at him.] How's tricks?

Sora | Wendigo/Faerie/Nephilim

[As a wendigo, Sora has the elongated fangs and claws. His antlers are elk-like and covered in a fine velvet fur. His ears have turned more deer-like and shifted up on his head. He's got a fluffy mane that reaches down to his equally as fluffy (and long) tail. And his feet are now hoofed and legs are digitigrade.

As a Fae, he's got stag beetle-like wings that are a deep blue almost black in color, antenna coming out of his forehead that feather at the ends, a second set of arms coming out of his torso just under his original arms. His arms, in general, are a bit longer now and his fingers are thinner and longer as well. His eyes are the same bright shade of blue but they're now compound and slightly larger. His skin is normal in some places but in others it starts to fade to the black-blue of his wings and harden like a carapace.

And as a nephilim Sora has four large wings, two white, one gray and one black. His 'halo' is more a golden aura around his head than anything else. He's got a second set of functioning eyes offset to his temples. He's got horns similar to that of an African bison and has also acquired a lion tail that's a deep brown in color. (Like his lion form in the Pride Lands.) On his hands he now sports two eyes on each palm, though these sets are non-functioning. He's also two feet taller now so almost normal in comparison to others!]

["Almost normal height", huh? Well, he's might be closer to Riku now, but unfortunately his best friend had to go and get hooves and a set of wings and horns himself.

It's been an interesting evening, one that Riku has a feeling is going to be cut short. It's hard to hang out with your best friend when one of them turns into a haze at the slightest bit of Darkness. But hey, it is kind of funny to run your claws through a cloud of your best friend and not actually hurt him.

(It's a bad habit and he should stop, but it's hard not to do it. This place has gotten to him in ways he couldn't think of.)

But for now in the twilight, they can both be active at the same time. A certain demon sits back on what would have been his heels as a human, long tail curling ever so slightly at the tip, a playful smile on his lips. He's restless tonight. Restless and hungry. That could be a dangerous combination.]

[It hurts. It hurts so bad when his heart stops beating, he doesn't know what to do. He was just out walking with his friend when it happened, when he finally "died." It's been long in coming; his health has been failing since he arrived, his normally healthy if slender body becoming nearly skeletal and weak. Still, he insisted on walking on his own, but now, as he sinks to one knee with a little gasp, Axel knows that it wasn't just sickness, that he didn't somehow escape this place's curse.]
