[after having spent so much time in the dark realm, it's strange for aqua to once again be part of the world of light. years and years had passed while she wandered seemingly forever; she'd almost forgoten what it was like to be touched by the sun's rays. yet here she is, standing under the sky she'd left behind with her two best friends.

she'd always known that boy, sora, would be the key.

she never did think that she'd be using her master status as it was meant when eraqus had conferred it upon her, though—that is, training new keyblade wielders, new forces in the battle against xehanort. it'd only been recently that she'd been introduced to the heartless, so the nobodies are even more of an unknown variable to her. but she'd been told that, despite their birth from nothingness, between the realms of both light and dark, these two—roxas and naminé—were different.

roxas, admittedly, looked too much like ven for aqua to handle; he was still housed within castle oblivion, sleeping, while terra still had yet to be rescued like aqua was. it was with a heavy heart that she had to pass on mentoring sora's nobody, instead entrusting his training to the new master, riku. she could handle the girl, though.

while aqua was surprised to learn that naminé's other, kairi—the young girl aqua remembered meeting in radiant garden all those years ago—inherited the keyblade thanks to aqua herself, it ultimately made sense in the end; it seemed like the second coming of her, terra, and ven, in a way. while they still didn't know if naminé had inherited kairi's keyblade, like roxas had with sora, if the young nobody was willing to learn, who was aqua to refuse?

it's in the room that her keyblade armor has resided for the last ten years that aqua asks naminé to meet her; a little morbid, maybe, but it reminds her of what she's fighting for. when the nobody enters, aqua turns her eyes away from the armor and looks up, welcoming her in.]

Naminé?

[She knows that room, where it's located and what it houses. A part of her wonders why Aqua had chosen it as their meeting place. Maybe to reclaim it? Maybe it used to be a room for training or even, it might have been hers before it changed?

She tries to push those thoughts out of her mind at the sound of her name. Naminé's fingers fidget with the ends of her dress out of nervousness, but she keeps her face still with a light, faint smile, nodding when spoken to. She's quite a bit nervous, having done nothing like this before. She's still assisting the King with locating Terra and she feels far more comfortable doing that, but this...

She doesn't really want to let on to Aqua about how terribly nervous she feels about this.]

...Hello, Master Aqua. Riku had told me that you wanted to meet me here.

["master aqua." it is her title, yes, and she has used it before to reaffirm the status it granted her... but something about having a student call her that seems a little stiff, almost too formal. she doesn't think she commands the same amount of respect that, say, master eraqus did. shaking her head the slightest bit, she offers,]

Please—call me Aqua.

[with that said, she turns her attention to naminé's body language, noticing the twitches of her fingers and the hesitance in her speech. she cannot fault the girl; it's a large responsibility, an insurmountable burden to take on... that in and of itself is worthy of something. she knows how naminé feels because she can see echoes of her young self, from a bygone era, reflected before her. her gaze softening, she continues,]

I've heard you're interested in learning to fight.

...Alright.

[Maybe it's a good thing she offers to drop the title as the blonde seems to relax just a bit. Honestly, it reminds her a bit of Riku; he still insists to not use the title, even though Sora and Kairi seem to use it to tease him from time to time. But that case is a little different. Riku has always just been himself to Naminé. Aqua, on the other hand-- there's something about her that makes Naminé believe it should be used.

She swallows hard when Aqua phrases it like that. Learning to fight. That's essentially what she's doing meeting her here like this. But it's enough to make her feel a little hesitant. She has never, ever in her short existence, fought like the others.

Bowing her head, she hides behind her bangs for a moment, bringing her hands together and lacing her fingers. The news of her potentially having a heart is still a big shock and is a tough truth to swallow, but if that could mean that she can do something else...

Something other than be a potential liability.]

Y-yes. I want to help and make myself more useful to everyone. I... can't do that if I can't protect myself...

[if aqua hadn't been told about nobodies before meeting with naminé, she wouldn't have believed there was a time that someone like naminé had been told she didn't have a heart. despite her trepidation, there is something unmistakable in the younger girl's response that proves she is just as capable of feeling and emotion as anyone else.

she moves to further close the distance between herself and her new student, hoping she and naminé can foster a working relationship. it'll take time, especially with how aqua is still relearning what it's like to be in the world of light, but... she's hopeful.]

None of us were born knowing how to fight. It takes time and practice—even Keyblade masters need to start somewhere. But the fact that you came to me, so that you could protect your friends... that's a good first step.

[light shines brightest in the darkness.]

[Naminé gaze rises when Aqua approaches her, but the corners of her lips twitch into the slightest frown. They're comforting words, she knows that for sure, and that Aqua has the best intentions.

But she is also relearning about the Realm of Light and the Heartless and the Nobodies. And when it comes to Nobodies, Naminé is the true outlier here. Even Roxas and Xion, in mere weeks of their existence, could summon the Keyblade and wield magic. She can still do neither.

She nods slowly.]
...I understand, and I want to at least try.

I really do appreciate that you're willing to do this with me too.

It's a Master's duty... and also, well, because I wanted to.

[she allows herself to step away from naminé again, though it's for a reason. she holds out her hand, concentrates, and summons her keyblade—stormfall, reunited with its proper owner. though it has been a decade since she has touched it, she has not forgotten what her true keyblade feels like; eraqus's keyblade never truly felt like her own. letting her hand fall, she smiles, if a bit wistfully.]

When I was younger, I dreamed of being a Keyblade Master. I grew up listening to all the stories about the children of light, the Keyblade War, the lanes between... I wanted to be one of them. But I used to not believe in myself. How could I, this normal girl, possibly become a fully-fledged Master?

[with her free hand, she reaches out to naminé, her hand stopping just before the younger girl's face. the tiniest orb of light forms on the tip of her pointer finger, which leaves aqua's fingertip and lazily floats into naminé's chest. the sides of her eyes crinkle ever so slighly.]

Sometimes dreams do come true.

[When Aqua manages to summon her Keyboard, her proper one and the one that Naminé has seen in the memories she found within Sora, the smaller Nobody just stares at it for a moment. All Keyboard truly represent their welders appropriately and. Aqua's is beautiful, sleek and elegant. Naminé can't help but be relieved that it's now with its proper owner.]

...I never would have thought you'd doubt yourself like that. [She practically radiates confidence, but the blonde understands the story. She's no "normal girl" though, nor is anyone with the potential to be a wielder, but everyone does have dreams, don't they? Even Nobodies...

Her breath hitches in her throat when Aqua reaches out and the light appears, only to disappear into her. Into her new heart. Naminé swallows hard, her hand coming up to the part where the light entered her.

Maybe... maybe she really can do this. Finally, there's a small smile.]

I certainly hope you're right. And thank you, for wanting to teach me...
