[Unlike Marie, Sanson was there when the sandcastle was first built. It happened just before Nursery Rhyme and Jack had gotten the idea to bury Sanson in the sand. With a final effort, he shovels enough sand from his body that he can finally sit up, and brushes the grit away from himself.

He stands up to follow Marie to the ruins of the sandcastle - only to stop and hop on one foot because he stepped on a shell, oops. But he's fine and promptly drops down beside her.]

I do, yes. It had two towers, and... [Sanson inclines his head toward the a shovel and bucket set not far from them.] They used those to build it.

[what a fuckin nerd.

once sanson points out the children's tools, marie quickly runs over to retrieve them. as young at heart as she is, though, she can't say she's ever had much experience building sandcastles... maria theresa would've never allowed her to play in the sand like this, little specks getting into every subtle fold of her sundress. still, her unfamiliarity isn't enough to deter her; holding onto the idea of keeping the children smiling far outweighs the mess she'll be dealing with later.]

Then it shouldn't be that hard to recreate, should it? Since you have the most memory of it, could you start building it? I can go and gather more sand for you to use!

I'll do my best.

[Bless Marie for not laughing at him when he stubbed his foot. Anyway, Sanson has already begun piling sand back onto what remained of the castle walls. It's a good thing it was only the children who made this; otherwise he'd have a more difficult time recreating the castle.

But at least he had the upper hand compared to Marie. He had many occasions to play with his children, and even his nieces and nephews and his grandson.

He extends a hand for the shovel and bucket.]

Let's hope they don't return too soon.
