kiss kiss fall in love 💋

1. first kiss 💘
the classic. maybe you've wanted to kiss them since you first met, or maybe you're just now realizing how you feel toward them. either way, the time is finally right...

2. mistletoe 💘
it's the most wonderful time of the year, and what better way to spend it than under that one holiday plant with someone special? the mistletoe can be either normal or the wacky "you're stuck together until you kiss" variety, whichever you feel at the time.

3. new years 💘
another favorite tradition. there's something magical about ringing in the new year with a kiss, whether you're in the crowd watching the festivities, out for a late night dinner, or curled up together at home. maybe you could come up with some resolutions together, too.

4. spin the bottle 💘
a party game that everyone knows, even if they've never played it before. it was all fun and games until your turn to spin ended with it pointing at them. if you guys are dating, it's a lot less awkward. if not... well, the bottle has spoken.

5. in the rain 💘
a light rain starts to fall during the middle of whatever you two were out doing. maybe there's something about the droplets in their hair that sets something aflutter within you... or maybe you just really liked that one scene from the first spider-man movie. an umbrella is optional.

6. just friends 💘
you don't always need to be in a relationship to kiss someone! if you're the physically affectionate type, maybe a friendly kiss is just your way of showing you care about someone.

7. seven minutes in heaven 💘
the premise: you and your partner have been stuck into a closet, whether by your friends during a party or by some unseen magical force. the condition: the door's not supposed to open unless you kiss for at least seven minutes. what do you do?

sometimes things must come to an end; sometimes they were never meant to be. whether one of you is moving, things didn't work out, or...well, something more tragic, there's a very real possibility that you won't get to see them in a while... or ever again. try and make it count.

[Sora doesn't even notice, and if he did, his attention would've been drawn away by the sudden kiss Riku plants on his lips. for some reason, the gentleness of it makes him flush even faster than the passionate ones they had shared at the party. jesus, Riku, at least give him some warning. (or don't. that's okay too, he guesses.)

still with a hint of red dusting his cheeks, he takes the lead in entering the house, rubbing his neck with his free hand again. it's impressive how fast he can go from carefree to flustered... then again, he's never been the type to try and hide his emotions.]

Y-yeah. Upstairs, right?

[he asks only to keep the silence from taking over and overshadowing the moment. of course he knows exactly where Riku's room is; he's already heading over to the stairs.]

Right. First door on the left.

[ his face is also tinged red, and he's glad sora is taking the forefront as they walk to his room. it means he can't see riku's face right now, and even though he knows that sora is in a similar situation it's still somewhat embarrassing.

riku's room hasn't changed much since before they left the islands, if only because he hasn't really had much time to change anything. even when back, riku does not spend a lot of time here since they're still working to stop xehanort. the only noticeable change is that he has a bigger bed; his growth spurt made his old one no longer an option.

once inside, riku closes and locks the door. he knows his parents aren't going to be home for hours ("date night," they said) but he wants to be safe. his bedroom is far enough from theirs that sounds shouldn't really carry unless they suddenly decide to be super loud or something. ]

So.

[hearing the door's mechanism click as Riku locks the door makes Sora's heart skip a beat. as a Keyblade wielder, he's more than used to undoing locks and uncovering the secrets they held inside. putting them up to create those secrets, though, is unfamiliar territory.

but what better way to balance a new situation than with a familiar one? he doesn't hesitate to take a seat at the edge of Riku's bed, something he does with a considerable amount of comfort. it's been such a long time since he'd done so, given most of their play took place outside on the play island, but it's not a thing he'd be able to forget.

had this been any other situation, he might have commented with something like, "you didn't spring for a racecar bed?" but given the context of their current standings... he just looks up at Riku's face, hands loosely gripping the side of the bed.]

Why'd you kiss me like that outside?

[and there he goes with his iconic "I'm just gonna say the first thing on my mind and we'll see how it goes" train of thought.]

[ he hadn't expected sora to bring it up so quickly. yes, riku is aware that they are going to need to address certain things, but he wasn't ready for it to be done like, immediately.

he pauses before joining sora on the bed. he keeps a couple of inches of space between them since he isn't entirely certain if touching is allowed during these types of conversations? even though the conversation is about, you know, touching. he suddenly wishes he paid more attention to all of the couples he has crossed on his journey. maybe they could have given him some sort of hint. ]

I just wanted to. [ it's... the simple truth. it wasn't fueled by the unfamiliar feeling of lust like all the other kisses had been. the only desire behind it was the fact that he wanted to kiss sora. so he did. ] It felt like the right thing to do. Did I-- sorry. If I made you uncomfortable.

["I just wanted to."

for a few seconds, Sora contemplates replying to Riku with words. he's not sure what kind of answer he was expecting. he considers giving a reassurance, maybe a pat on the back to signify that yes, things are still okay. he kind of wants to open the discussion on what all this means for them, for their relationship, because he knows Riku has been thinking about it the whole time through; he knows Riku enough to pick up on his expressions and body language like that.

but then, he figures, he should answer in kind, plain and simple like the response he had received. sitting here in Riku's room like this, their hands having been linked not even a minute before, he thinks he knows what his stance on the matter is, even if he hasn't fully considered the outcome or repercussions. so without any further thinking, he closes the distance between them and kisses Riku back.

"I want to, too."]

[ he feels like he should have expected the kiss. yet, it still takes him by surprise. once he gets over the initial shock, though, riku sighs into it, immediately cupping sora's face with his hands.

they can put actual words to this later. now... now, all they have to do is act. riku doesn't think either of them will regret this later, even if they might be a little embarrassed over it. but with sora's mouth against his, their breaths intermingling, riku cannot come up with one good reason why they should stop. ]

[where Riku's hands go up, Sora's travel downward, once again stationing themselves at Riku's hips. the two of them being able to sit on the bed like this instead of the cramped closet has given them so much more freedom, even if Sora doesn't know exactly what to do with it just yet. but... hey, they're learning together, and he can't think of a better partner than Riku for something like this,

given that much, he's done considering the weirdness of all this, focusing instead on just accepting the feelings he's experiencing right now (even if he can't put any identifying words to them); hopefully Riku feels the same. he doesn't see any reason the other boy wouldn't be; why else, then, would they be here right now, doing exactly what they're doing, if they both didn't want it? and they'd already established that they did.

does this make them a little more than simply best friends?]

[ once they're comfortable enough, one of riku's hands wanders downwards to rest on sora's upper leg. his mouth feels so nice against, just... right. it's strange now to think that they never tried this before, never really wondered what it would be like. especially for riku; he had been so hyper-fixated on sora for so long that he almost wants to laugh about it now. this seems a little obvious in retrospect.

but is this going to be a one time thing? riku really isn't sure how they'd manage that. he might be able to at least pretend to keep moving as if nothing went on, but he doubts sora would be able to do the same thing.

he decides to kiss sora harder instead of focusing on this train of thought. ]

[and he's right on that assumption, because Sora isn't a person who pretends. the dude is too much of a sop to even think about lying, hence how they got in this whole situation in the first place. which... he can't really say hasn't been a good experience, honestly. getting to kiss Riku is very quickly becoming a plus in his book. see, good things do come out of being a giant goody-two-shoes, both figuratively and literally.

but they'll cross that bridge when they get to it. they're a little too caught up in the moment to worry too hard about things.

for now, he grabs the wrist of the hand Riku has on his thigh, his emotions guiding his body more than his thoughts are. which, to be honest, aren't different or conflicting things at this point. he doesn't hesitate to bite Riku's lip this time, letting him know how he feels, which shouldn't be too hard to discern at this point.]

[ riku twists his hand so that his fingers can lace together with sora's. he's decided that he is definitely a fan of the whole hand holding things, which is probably embarrassingly mushy but whatever.

he has a sharp intake of breath when sora bites him again. riku runs his tongue against sora's, enjoying the feel of mouth against mouth. he moves his body even closer to the other teen's so they're more pressed together. ]

[hopefully Riku can feel the trademark grin making its way onto Sora's face when the other's fingers curl around his. he might already be getting used to all this, in a good way. he thought he'd known all there is to know about Riku already... so why shouldn't he know this part of him, too?

appreciating the closer proximity of their bodies, the hand that's not linked with Riku's then wanders back to the bottom zipper of his shirt. it hovers there for a bit, teasing the small piece of metal without moving it. slowly pushing Riku's tongue out of his mouth, he says—which comes out as more a sigh than anything,]

Can I?

[ riku glances at sora's hand on his zipper. he considers it... and is somewhat surprised when he realizes he doesn't mind even in the slightest? in fact, he thinks it's endearing that sora bothered to ask at all. maybe they're progressing this way too fast but.

no this feels okay. riku doesn't think he'll regret this and he doubts that sora will either. ]

Yeah. [ his voice is low, encouraging. ]

[on one hand, it's just in Sora's nature to be considerate; even when he's in the midst of a spontaneous outburst like this, he'll still check in. on the other, he hopes Riku won't tease him too much for it later. (he knows it's coming. you learn the habits of those you've been close to for basically your entire life pretty fast, even in a situation like this. he just wants to be prepared for it.)

after getting the okay, he slowly unzips the other boy's shirt, this time fully undoing it. he hesitates just a bit—and he's not quite sure why this is more embarrassing to do than frenching Riku when they've gone swimming together countless times before because, you know, island kids—before solidly placing his hand on Riku's now bare chest, breath hitching just a bit as their skin touches. in the back of his mind, he wonders if it would feel as good, as nice if Riku were to do the same to him... but he's not gonna push it. he can be the one to look out for Riku and make sure he's happy this time.]

[ riku is so glad he decided to switch locations because he doubts they would have gone this far while still in the closet. he shivers slightly at the touch, the feel of sora's callused palm against his own chest. it's not a thing he ever thought to experience. if someone had told riku yesterday that he would find himself in this situation, he'd laugh. it would seem so ridiculous.

it's anything but ridiculous now though.

riku pauses for a second, considering his next words. ]

Is there anything else you want?

[Sora remains silent for a bit. it's a loaded question, one he doesn't know if he can answer correctly. he runs his fingers down Riku's body, ruminating on the inquiry as he explores the other boy's skin and physique. what would be the best way to answer? he doesn't want to overcomplicate things (more than they already are, even), but he can't let the matter sit unattended to...

soon, he looks up to meet Riku's eyes. he thinks he knows what to say now, even if it admittedly sounds kinda cheesy in his head. but isn't that his thing? almost embarrassingly, his heart catches in his throat a little as the word comes out, hoping he doesn't sound silly or anything,]

You.

[ it is, in fact, extremely cheesy.

riku's face breaks into a smile, one that's a lot bigger than the usual ones he makes. sora always does grand gestures with whatever he does, from speeches about friendship to. this apparently. it's so ridiculous and slightly corny and exactly what riku expected from sora.

it's sweet and it makes riku's stomach flip sideways.

he immediately reaches out again to press his lips against sora's, humming in approval. ]

[Sora's heart skips a beat when Riku comes toward him, though it's not long before whatever remaining feelings of hesitation he has melt into ones of fondness and adoration. he knows Riku doesn't smile like that for just anything, or anyone; he knows in his heart what a grin like that means, and he's more than happy to share it—to have been the one who put such a wonderful display of happiness on Riku's face. it's different, he muses, than any other feelings of joy they've shared with other friends before...

it's something deeper; that much he can tell for sure.

as Riku goes in for the kiss, Sora slowly begins to fall back, but not before wrapping an arm around Riku's waist to suggest his coming down, too. using his other hand, he starts to ease the other boy's vest off his shoulder, teasing the waters, in a way. even with that more-or-less-a-confession of his, he still doesn't want to go too fast, and he hopes Riku feels the same. it doesn't mean they still can't have fun, after all.]

[ as soon as sora starts to pull at his vest, riku pauses for about two seconds to deliberate on it. and then he just shrugs it off completely, since really at this point they might as well just remove this obstacle completely. it's obvious things were going to head this way, anyway.

he hovers above sora, slightly amazed at how his friend (is he just his friend at this point? probably not) looks from this angle. it's... riku isn't sure how to explain it, but something in his stomach tugs at the sight of it. instead of returning his attentions to sora's lips, though, riku starts to attack the other teen's neck again.

just because he can. ]

[Sora pushes his fingers into Riku's hair, pressing the other boy closer to his neck as he moans; he'd try to control his volume, but he's just a little preoccupied. this is a kind of release he didn't know he needed until now.

with one hand keeping Riku's head steady, Sora tries to remove the other part of Riku's top—"tries" being the keyword, because wow, is Riku making it hard to do much of anything right now. for the moment, his hand is just kind of slipping beneath the undershirt, getting distracted by trying to simultaneously comprehend Riku's lips sucking at his neck, and the warmth of the other boy's collarbone under his fingers.

this is hot, he realizes, both figuratively and literally. and even though he's never considered it before, he's pretty sure he likes it.]

[ riku grunts as sora attempts to take to remove the other articles of clothing, mostly because it keeps making him have to pause what he's doing for a few seconds. he knows that this is for the greater good, and that he'll appreciate it once it's done, but also.

riku licks a stripe up sora's neck up til his jaw, then starts peppering small kisses against it. ]

[oh, that's evil. Sora squirms with pleasure under the influence of Riku's advances, withdrawing his hands from their attempts to get that damn shirt off. he breathes in deep as Riku's tongue trails along his neck, yet somehow still manages to hiss,]

C'mon, weren't you just asking what I wanted?

[that implies he doesn't want this, which is entirely untrue. he's just being his usual stubborn self.]

[ at sora's complaint (even though riku is pretty sure he isn't actually complaining? he's just being sora) riku smiles, his lips tugging upwards against sora's skin. he pulls away enough so that he can properly look at the other teen and he hopes that the expression on his face isn't as fond as what he's currently feeling.

it is. ]

You said you wanted me. Here I am.

[ deciding to pity him, riku removes the undershirt himself. ]

[when Riku backs away, Sora's first instinct is to latch onto him and return him to his previous position against his own body, to bring the other boy's face down and press his own lips against that loving smile. but he resists, and for that, he is rewarded. there's something about seeing Riku fully shirtless above him that sends a chill down his spine, heart beating harder with each passing second.

using the brief reprieve Riku's undressing gives him, Sora decides to take advantage and try to shrug off his own clothing... only to get caught up and stuck in his own undershirt. blame his dumb hair.]

[ riku watches sora struggle for a few moments, debating on whether he should help or not.

a) sora getting his clothes off will benefit the both of them but b) this is really funny to watch.

in the end, riku gives in and yanks the top off of sora. he tosses it aside, not really paying attention to where it lands because that is not important right now.]

[Sora struggles for a bit before Riku decides to give him a hand; he's visibly disgruntled, almost feeling betrayed for not having gotten help sooner, when the shirt comes off over his head.]

Gee, thanks.

[... that grumpiness doesn't last for long, though, as it soon gives way to enjoying Riku's company yet again. he quickly discards his gloves, then runs his hands down Riku's sides. he's gotten so used to wearing gloves for so long that it's a whole new world when his bare hands make contact with the other boy's skin.]
